In this intro level workshop, students will learn the copper foil stained glass method. Participants will design and create 1 suncatcher of their own design using 5-7 pieces of glass (limited so that everyone gets to complete their piece). Class fee includes materials for 1 project and use of tools and equipment.
This workshop will cover the following:
• Safety precautions when working with flat glass.
• Introduction to copper foil stained glass as an artistic medium.
• Introduction to stained glass tools including cutters, hand tools, grinders, and soldering irons.
• Design and creation of a stained glass suncatcher with help from the instructor.
Open to participants aged 18+. When working with glass there is a chance of getting cut or burnt. Participants will be required to sign a liability waiver - please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early to fill out forms. MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Closed toed shoes are required. Eye protection will be provided and recommended.
Minimum of 6 students required. If minimum is not met, the workshop will be cancelled and you will receive a refund. In the case that you need to cancel, we require 72-hour notice for a full refund.
