Beginner Stained Glass 101

Saturday, 10/7/23 at The Coalition Space - 311 E. 7th St.

In this intro level workshop, students will learn the basics of copper foil stained glass. Participants will design and create 1 hanging suncatcher during this ~3 hour class. Class fee includes glass for 1 project and use of all tools and equipment. You will learn how to cut glass, wrap copper foil around glass, solder pieces together, and add a loop for hanging the piece.
This workshop will cover:
• Safety precautions when working with flat glass.
• Introduction to glass tools including cutters, hand tools, grinders, and soldering irons.
• Design and creation of a stained glass suncatcher up to 6" in size (limit 5-7 pieces of glass).
Closed toed shoes and masks are required and eye protection will be provided. When working with stained glass there is a chance of getting cut or burnt. Participants will be required to sign a liability waiver. Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early to fill out forms. Open to students age 18+.
If minimum is not reached, class will be canceled and you will receive a full refund. In the event that you need to cancel, we require 1 week notice for a full refund. Minimum of 6, maximum of 8 participants.
