This piece started with the middle painting and evolved into this beauty from that little square. I created 2 other painted components that mirror the original painting and created a grid with all 3. The middle prickly pear is painted on iridescent clear glass, so it'll flash bright colors when it catches the light right. The other 2 prickly pears are painted on plain clear glass. All pieces of this panel are transparent - the last photo shows what the piece looks like on a colored wall.
The rest of the glass is all textured greens and clear. I love how the green glass fades from bottom to top. The middle shade of green is then also used for the corner squares, the top shade of green is used for the top and bottom edging, and a great textured clear makes up the side edging. This piece is finished with silver jack chain and should be hung from a nail or anchor.
Each of these Doodle pieces, once painted, must dry for 24 hours before being fired in an oven and then cooled. Then I cut, grind, copper foil, and solder the pieces into the assemblage I want. Each of these pieces takes several days to complete and is 100% unique.
Item measures 8" wide by 11.75" tall.
Made with transparent colored sheet glass, glass paints, copper foil, leaded solder, and silver jack chain.
